Third Basin of northern Italy, it has three branches in the shape of an inverted Y. Ideally located in the center of the Alps, it has always been particularly popular with tourists from the north who find a little corner of the Mediterranean, surrounded by mountains. For those who come from large urban centers, the lake is, instead, a haven of peace and quiet where the climate is more pleasant than in the rest of the Alps.
A surprising and always fascinating landscape of a thousand colors: green and turquoise waters, relief to the snowy rock walls, covered with forests, villages built of stone, perched between the shores and mountains, cities rich in history and culture.
Lake Como (also called Lario) has a very diverse country, but harmonious whole. The beautiful nature has not really suffered desecration, for man has always ensured its preservation, respect for the environment, giving life to a large number of small towns of character.
In summer the lake becomes an oasis where you can cool off or climb the mountains. In winter, however, the climate is milder thanks to the heat released by the water and the protection of mountains, a paradise for all winter sports enthusiasts.
